"Great Grandfather's Drum" is a one-hour public television documentary on Japanese-American culture and history in Maui. The film was created by Cal and Victoria Lewin of Seattle's Opticus Media Corporation. Opticus Media has produced hundreds of TV commercials, corporate videos, music videos, and more. Vegas Pro is the platform they rely upon. "Great Grandfather's Drum" focuses on Kay Fukumoto, one of the first woman Japanese-American taiko performers, and the founder of Maui Taiko. The film was an official selection at many festivals and has screened at museums. It is currently being broadcast on Hawaiian public TV, as well as on Hawaiian Airlines flights.
